Over 1,250 riders from across Texas converge on Cleburne the last Saturday in July every year to participate in the annual ride. Cyclists can ride in 10 mile, 25 mile, 39.5 mile or 69.5 mile courses through the rolling hills of Johnson and Somervell counties. Online registration opens February 1, 2025.
More than 300 volunteers come together to provide top-notch Cleburne hospitality to our riders and guests. Registration and parking run smoothly thanks to many long-time volunteers. Rest stops are manned and welcome riders every 8-10 miles on each course. Flag volunteers are placed throughout to direct riders. SAG Wagon volunteers traverse the courses to ensure riders are supported as needed. Onsite registration and packet pick-up is open 5-8 pm on 7/25 and resumes at 6 am on 7/26.
Originally created by members of the Cleburne Jaycees, the Goatneck remains one of the largest bike rides in Texas. The Goatneck Bike Ride came under new leadership in 2022, when the Cleburne Education Foundation(CEF) became the organizer of the event. CEF was founded in 2011, with the primary focus being to raise private dollars to invest in projects in Cleburne ISD that are not funded through local, state or federal tax dollars. Since 2012, Cleburne Education Foundation has funded 800 grants and projects in CISD totaling over $1,000,000.

38th Annual Goatneck Bike Ride
The 38th Annual Goatneck Bike Ride is once again on for 2025! This year's ride will take place on Saturday July, 26, 2025. Online registration is preferred. There will be registration in person the evening before the ride and the morning of the ride.
The Cleburne Education Foundation (CEF) will once again serve as host and is excited to welcome riders back to Johnson County. CEF jumped at the opportunity to take over this great event and will continue to make sure that the Goatneck will be one of the premier rides in the State of Texas. LONG LIVE THE GOAT!!!!
The Goatneck Bike Ride takes place in Johnson County, Texas, and features a rolling hill course that includes an average climb of approximately 35 feet per mile. The ride takes place on well-maintained country roads with low traffic, and riders can enjoy a tailwind during the final stretch as prevailing winds typically blow from the southwest during this time of year. To ensure riders have ample opportunity to rest and refuel, rest stops are provided every 8-9 miles across all courses. The event is highly popular, with close to 1,500 riders participating last year. Thanks to their support, we were able to donate over $30,000 to local charities and teacher grants.
